Hambantota Port Development Project, Sri Lanka
The current Hambantota Port is developed in two phases. The content of the Phase I development includes two 100,000DWTgeneral-purpose berths, one 100,000DWToil terminal berth, one workboat terminal berth, harbor basin and turning basin excavation to -16.00m for total 12 million cubic meters earthwork, navigation channel dredging of 2.6 million cubic meters; 1,300 meters breakwaters, 2,200 meters revetment, as well as relevant port roads, yards, water and electricity supply, and ancillary equipment etc. The content of the Phase II development includes two 100,000DWTcontainer berths with a total length of 838.5 meters, two 100,000DWTmulti-purpose berths with a total length of 838.5 meters, and two 10,000DWTfeeder container berths with a total length of 460 meters. It won the China Construction Engineering Luban Award (Overseas Projects), Tien- yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize, 2013-2014 National Quality Engineering Award (Overseas Projects), 2018~2019 National Quality Engineering Award.
