Gwadar City has a population of approximately 85000, but education resources are scarce. The literacy rate of the local people is extremely low, and there are only one to two public primary schools with relatively good conditions in the city. There is also no primary school in the Faqur area under its jurisdiction.
After learning about this situation, the China Peace and Development Foundation decided to donate funds to build a primary school in the Faqu'er community. The school's land was donated free of charge by a local elderly person, Sheir Mohammad. CCCC-FHDI was responsible for the investigation, design, and construction of the school.
On August 26, 2016, China Pakistan Faqur Public Primary School was officially put into operation, with a building area of approximately 600 square meters and 120 students enrolled in the early stage. I heard that the primary school was completed, and students from nearby villages came eagerly to sign up. On September 1st, then Pakistani President Nawaz Sharif arrived at the school. The accompanying personnel from Pakistan asked where the welcoming children came from, and one child proudly said, "I come from a Chinese elementary school." This became a beautiful tale of friendship between China and Pakistan.
In 2018, Faqu'er School was upgraded to a secondary school, and the school buildings became increasingly tense. The China Peace Development Foundation decided to invest in expanding the school. In December 2019, the CCCC-FHDI was once again responsible for the expansion project of the school.
In June 2020, the CCCC-FHDI overcame the impact of the COVID-19, took strict epidemic prevention measures, and actively promoted the smooth implementation of the project construction, which not only ensured the successful completion of the school expansion, but also completed and handed over three months ahead of schedule!
The expanded campus has a building area of approximately 1300 square meters, capable of accommodating 1000 students, and is equipped with additional facilities such as terraces and multifunctional classrooms to meet future development needs.
The comprehensive playground on campus is the most beloved place for children, with songs and laughter lingering around the playground. The originally designed "graffiti wall" has been filled with exquisite works by the children. Local people say that this is the "school that Chinese friends will bring to them to grow up".
This small school, although only a starting point for the Guadalcanal livelihood project, carries the deep friendship between the people of China and Pakistan; Through this platform, we seem to have seen the radiance of people to people communication!
